CSUB professor Robert Carlisle has been teaching online for 14 years. He is now training on effective online teaching. An effort to offer college students more options to take classes online is gaining steam at Cal State Bakersfield — and getting both good and bad reviews. As state university leaders begin preparing for a large scale “CSU Online” endeavor, CSUB has increased the number of online course sections available, instituted its first summer training course for faculty to teach effectively online, and this year hired its first administrator to help expand those efforts.
