Getting robots to play football well involves conquering lots of basic problems UK researchers are preparing one of the nation’s first teams to compete in the 2011 robot football world cup. Researchers at the University of Edinburgh are currently refining the smart systems that control the team of three humanoid robots on the pitch. They will enter their trio of robots in the main RoboCup competition which pits standardised robots against each other.
