Board President Don Hubler advocated for giving expelled students additional chances. The expulsion of a pair of students led to a discussion by L’Anse Creuse officials of online opportunities provided for those who have been removed from the general student population. One student was charged with violations of two portions of the district’s student code of conduct, and was given consideration for facilitated online learning in an alternate setting after school hours. Trustee Mary Hilton said the violations related to technology misconduct and assault. She said she found it “inexcusable” to provide technology to a student with these violations.
