Perdue’s short tour Friday, which highlighted the use of technology at the school, comes as N.C. House lawmakers put the final touches on their version of the state’s budget. With revenue lagging in the sluggish economy, Perdue and both the House and Senate are proposing cutting millions in education funding. The exact cuts will be worked out in coming weeks. But Perdue said Friday that finding money for school technology is crucial to student success, which leads to future economic development.
