Alex Cotton, a sixth-grade student at Channahon’s Three Rivers School, couldn’t contain his excitement when he was handed an award certificate for his very own personal computer. It’s the first computer he’s ever owned. “I think this is very exciting. I am very interested in computers. I know a lot about them. I can’t wait until this is mine,” Cotton said, patting a computer monitor with his name on it. Cotton was one of 18 students in Will, Grundy and Kendall counties who received a refurbished personal computer during an awards celebration from Vista Learning’s Computer 2 Kids in Need program last week, held at the Professional Development Alliance.
