Dr. Day is an assistant professor in educational leadership at
UIS. He completed his Ed. D. in educational organization and leadership at
the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2000 with a dissertation
entitled "Perceptions on Learning: A Study of At-Risk Middle School
Students, Their Parents, Teachers, and Administrators."
Dr. Day has been working in educational administration since 1986. He has held positions as a practicing administrator at all levels of the public school system in Pennsylvania and Illinois. Most recently he has been a principal of grades K-8 at St. Joseph Community
Consolidated District #169.
Some of Dr. Day's presentations include "Differentiated
Supervision Design Development," "Trends in Teacher Supervision
and Evaluation," and "Doctoral Candidates in Educational
Leadership." He has also been a moderator for the Regional
Roundtables for Principals. Dr. Day holds memberships in the
Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Illinois
Principal's Association, the National Association of Secondary School
Principals, the American Education Research Association, the National
Middle School Association, and the Illinois Council for Professors of Educational
Administration.
