Lisa Johnsonhas been involved in IT training for more than a decade at Barnardo’s. Here she shares her top tips on how to engage staff with the virtual classroom. When Barnardo’s was searching for a cost-effective and efficient IT training model more than 10 years ago, the virtual world of the internet and e-learning provided the right solutions. I have been involved in IT learning and development for almost 20 years and have worked for Barnardo’s for the last 14 years. I remember my e-learning journey with a smile. It started when I sourced a couple of old laptops and invited staff for IT training after finding a box of CDs covering basic, intermediate and advanced Microsoft Office skills. The take-up and feedback was positive and I wanted to find better ways to make content available to staff across the organisation.
