Taking the online option - Zena McFadden, Baraboo News Republic
While debate continues in Madison over funding and boundary issues related to online learning, the Baraboo School District is moving gradually ahead in providing Web-based options to students. This fall, for the first time, the district offered some students the choice of taking a number of online learning classes. "This year we have piloted an online learning opportunity for students at the high school," said Crystal Ritzenthaler, director of curriculum and instruction for the district. High schoolers are now able to study English, algebra and history as well as art, Spanish and marketing via the Web.
