A class of cyber-grads - Will Klusener, Mercury
The Manhattan/Ogden School District is joining a growing number of districts that are branching out into cyberspace. Beginning this fall, USD 383 will offer high school classes through its new online teaching vehicle, the iQ Academy of Kansas. The academy is the brainchild of a partnership earlier this year between the district and KC Distance Learning (KCDL), which works with districts to set up the programs. The district's previous online program was called NovaNET. Classes will be available to students in the district, but kids from "the southwest to the northeast, from all over," can enroll in the program, said Brooke Blanck, director of the academy.
