iPODs become learning tools for Colorado colleges - Nelson Garcia, 9 News
Walking across any college campus, it's easy to find students with an iPOD or MP3 player listening to music. Now, instead of listening to the latest hip-hop tune, they may be listening to the theory of supply and demand. "What I'm trying is an experiment," said Dr. Mohammed Akacem, economics professor at Metropolitan State College. This year, he started making MP3 recordings of his classes, mostly for his online courses. However, he said for his in-person students, being able to rewind and replay lectures on an iPOD or MP3 player can be helpful. "It's easier for us to understand," said David Edelman, a Metro State freshman. "It's better than the chalkboard and it's just an easier way to learn for us."
