At head of the cast Carleton becomes first university to vodcast entire course - and students are tuning in - LAURA CZEKAJ, OTTAWA SUN
Call it learning on the go and Carleton University is doling out the goods. The university is the first to vodcast, or video podcast, an entire university course. Podcasting is the distribution of audio or video files over the Internet for listening on mobile devices and personal computers. Vodcasting is the term for the online delivery of video on demand. "Vodcasting is something we've done for about three years now and those are actually streamed lectures, so the student has to be sitting in front of their computer as the lecture is sent to them. They watch it as they would watch it on their television," said Prof. Bob Burk, whose first-year chemistry course is making Internet history.
