High schools offering online college courses: Worth the work - Tracy Frank, The Forum
A Minnesota pilot program that allows high school students to take college credits online is catching on, despite its rigorous demands. Six high school students in Hawley, Minn., recently finished a college-level psychology course. After winter break, four students are taking pre-calculus, one is taking sociology and another is enrolled in a social problems course. “It’s really good for getting credits out of the way that I won’t have to pay for in college,” said Nathan Haugen, a Hawley senior who recently completed the online psychology course.
