Podcasts are easier, more fun and more useful than you might think - Chad Jones, Inside Bay Area
Podcasts are no longer just for tech geeks. If you don't even know what a podcast is, you should consider paying attention because you might be missing something good. The word podcast is misleading — and might even be offputting to the non-geeks of the world. Podcast.net CEO Dannie Gregoire takes credit for combining the word broadcasting with iPod, the name of Apple's popular MP3 player. The term caught on last year, but it suggests that an iPod is a necessary part of the equation. Not so. If you have a computer and, ideally, a high-speed Internet connection, you can plunge into the podcasting pool.
