Blog Revolution: Expanding classroom horizons with Web logs. - Will Richardson, techLearning
Think blogs are a passing fad? Then consider this: A new blog is created every second. There are more than 900,000 blog posts a day. Some two million blogs are updated every week. At this point, I think it's safe to say that blogs are here to stay. As any journalist, politician, or business executive will tell you, a world inhabited by content-producing ordinary people—also known as bloggers—means big changes. That's soon to be true for educators, as well.

These kinds of resources definitely going to help. When we can provide the students some more meaningful ways of learning then why not go for those? I believe students will learn quickly by adopting these methods.

As you said there are many such resources available on World Wide Web, we just need to utilize those. I can recall once such incident where one student did not understand the basic subtraction rules of mathematics but when we showed him the some example made with visual effects then he quickly grabbed it. Anyways just an example how useful these things are for human beings..!!

Thanks For great information.

Yes, I am in total agreement that "Blogs are expanding the horizons of  classrooms"  There are  millions of blog post written and published by educators, politicians , celebrities and other people pertaining to various "walks of life".  They are openly sharing their life with their counter parts by scribbling their life's experience on the pages of their blogs.
In this way they are acting as "Educationists" for other people. I personally believe that "Blogs will help our children in facing the realities of life. In reality, schools only provide elementary education, which does not help in honing the personality of a person."
In one of his articles the famous psychologist Dr. Maurice Prout has written on his website http://www.mauriceproutphd.com/,  that some students are more receptive to :
"learning through listening"
 "learning through doing things practically"
"learning through writing something"
and some are used to "learning through reading something".
And a "Blog" directly targets the pupil who pertains to the very last pool of “Learners through reading things", these pupils are more receptive to learning things after they have read them somewhere.
