Access for All: How Distance Education Addresses Learning Needs - PBS
As discussed in a previous Live and Learn column, online learning has become a mainstream activity. The benefits of online learning, however, cannot overcome many barriers defined as learning disabilities. To meet these needs, standards and resources for addressing learning needs have experienced a concomitant increase, as well. Along with this growth, professional organizations have been established to assist educators and institutions in creating and sharing accessible learning content, establishing standards in technology use, and providing a forum for academic discussion about learning design.
