USDA offers distance learning, telemedicine grants - Fergus Falls Journal

Funding is available through Rural Development in the U.S. Department of Agriculture to organizations who currently deliver or propose to deliver distance learning or telemedicine services. To be eligible for funding, organizations must be legally organized as an organization or partnership and operate a rural community facility or deliver distance learning or telemedicine services to rural areas. The minimum an organization may apply for is $50,000 and the maximum is $500,000. The amount of funding available is not yet known, but USDA Rural Development announced the availability of funds to ensure that applicants have sufficient time to submit proposals. Funding for the Distance Learning and Telemedicine Grant program in 2004 was about $24.6 million, including a $483,000 grant to Minnesota Tele-Media to provide distance learning services throughout southwest and west central Minnesota.
