No break: Students flock to winter program - Lanita Withers, Greensboro News & Record
A holiday season steeped in homework awaits UNCG master's student Brian Hahne. He is one of about 400 UNCG students enrolled in WinterSession, five weeks of online classes sandwiched between the traditional fall and spring semesters. WinterSession students earn academic credit, just as they would during a regular semester or summer school. UNCG is the only school in the UNC system that offers a winter break program, officials said. "Students love the idea. It's a way of accelerating their progress to a degree," said Robert Brown, dean of the Division of Continual Learning.
