ECU will be going distance - the Daily Reflector
A collaboration between East Carolina University's School of Allied Health Science and an Alaskan university will put the "distance" in distance learning this fall. Beginning this fall, the University of Alaska at Anchorage will connect with ECU to access speech pathology classes. The program will help address the national shortage of speech-language pathologists, particularly in Alaska because there are no university training courses on the subject in that state.... Four students from Alaska will begin on-line courses this month along with 10 students enrolled at ECU. Both universities are offering on-line prerequisite courses, and there are 19 students taking those classes at UAA with interest in starting graduate work in the fall of 2005.
