Students choose logging on over listening to lectures - Jenel Few, Savannah Morning News
Online courses grow in popularity at the area colleges and universities. Deirdre Ward has nearly completed a master's degree but after teaching third-graders all day at Taylors Creek Elementary School in Hinesville, going to college to finish her studies wasn't always easy - until she found out about e-learning. Ward, 42, is a full-time student at Armstrong Atlantic State University. But because the last four courses she has taken have been Internet courses, she hasn't had to worry about leaving her home in Richmond Hill and driving all the way to Savannah for lectures and assignments.
