Rigid framework needs room to breathe - Eric Wilson, SMH.com
Australia has become "the banana republic of e-learning", says Adelaide-based Mark Keough, CEO of online start-up Archer College, and deputy president of the Regency Institute of TAFE. This is despite the likely continuation of the Flexible Learning Framework into 2007. The program needs additional resources for extra tasks because the impact of e-learning in Vocational Education and Training (VET) will likely exceed the predictions policymakers made in 2000 - as will the cost of making it work.
