Hannibal-LaGrange College will soon offer its first online class - Hannibal Courier-Post

Hannibal-LaGrange College will offer its first online course during the fall 2004 semester, which begins Sept. 1. This early childhood special education course will be the first of a sequence of online class offered by HLG, and is part of a partnership with The Learning House, a comprehensive online learning company that develops customized internet content for educational purposes.... Carol Bunch, associate professor of education at HLG, will be the instructor for the course, entitled Special Education Process. The class will offer an overview of the historical and legal precedents for the field of early intervention. The facts that cause or increase the risk for disability will be addressed, as well as service provision and discipline-specific information regarding intervention. Typical and atypical development in each of the five developmental domains will be addressed. Students in this class will earn three credit hours. The course begins on Sept. 13, 2004. Other courses are planned for the spring semester.
