Learning Management Systems: E-learning - IT Analysis
We use various means for learning within the Financial Services Industry: internal training courses, external classroom based training and computer based training to develop our skills. The most recent addition to these learning options is E-learning especially with the proliferation of the internet and technology advancement. The prediction has been that by the end of the year 2003, half of all training may be online. This is probably true but the point of this article is not to contradict this or agree with it but rather to highlight the fact that e-learning is now a central part of any corporate's learning management system whether provided in house or by external E-learning companies. The question is have the corporates got their e-learning programmes correct? Are the e-learning companies really providing a value for money service or is the financial markets better serviced by a traditional training company that uses a mix of methods including e-learning as an enabler?
