Indigenous leaders discuss higher education changes - 612 ABC, Brisbane
An international consortium of Indigenous leaders has urged more Aboriginal Australians to take part in higher education. More than 80 delegates from countries like Hawaii and Canada are meeting in Brisbane to discuss ways to increase the Indigenous role in tertiary education. Consortium head Turoa Royal from New Zealand says many institutions need to change. He says universities should encourage e-learning and distance learning and should ensure "that our doors are open wider".
