E-learning in Ireland steps up a level as Universitas 21 Global launches its fully on-line MBA course - Deirdre McArdle, Electric News Net

Universitas 21 Global, a consortium of 16 universities, including the University of Glasgow, has partnered with Irish company PAI Publications Ltd. to bring the course to Ireland. Those behind the course are hoping that flexibility and its low cost of EUR14,900 -- which includes all required texts -- should attract a number of potential students to 340 students already enrolled worldwide. "E-learning has come a long way in the past 10 years, where once it was treated with suspicion, courses like this provide a credible option for those at mid-career level wanting to take the next step up the corporate ladder," Dr. Jeremy Williams, Director of Instruction and Assessment and an Associate Professor in E-Learning at Universitas 21 Global, said of this latest e-learning initiative.
