Augsburg's online deal prompts identity crisis - Mary Jane Smetanka, Minneapolis Star Tribune
Is it a deal with the devil, or a marriage made in heaven? That's the question being asked at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, where the Lutheran college, proud of its urban roots and liberal arts tradition, has signed an agreement to develop and teach courses for an online university. The deal with Capella University, a rapidly expanding Minneapolis-based online school, was sealed in October after 55 percent of faculty members voted to go ahead with the project. But opposing opinions about the deal remain strong.
