U. Maryland Students hold out for evaluations website - Sam Hedenberg, Diamondback

Although the University Senate blocked a proposal to publish faculty evaluations online, students say there is still hope for launching the website. Some students said they believe the push for an evaluation website is necessary, as most university databases are currently online, but student members of the senate Executive Committee said the time is not right. "I see [the charge] as a way to get the focus off of the publication of the evaluations," said senate Executive Committee member Eric Swalwell, a senior government and politics major. "This issue shouldn't be disqualified because of it."
