Education Group Wants Distance-Education Restrictions to be Relaxed Permanently - DAN CARNEVALE, the Chronicle
The American Council on Education is lobbying Congress to let the Department of Education decide which institutions can ignore distance-learning rules, even as lawmakers consider weakening one of the regulations instead. But officials at ACE argue that their proposal is the better option for expanding access to online education while maintaining protections against possible fraud and abuse.
