Class lets students rub shoulders with newsmakers - Rebecca Jones, Rocky Mountain News
It's not often that college students can talk to former presidents and leading Washington insiders as part of their course work. But students in "Television and the Modern Presidency," a first-of-its-kind distance education class for undergraduate political science and journalism students at the University of Denver, do just that - twice a week. Last week, students peppered Lyn Nofziger, senior White House adviser during the Reagan administration, with questions. Another recent guest speaker was current White House press secretary Ari Fleischer. Chatting with former President Ford was a treat when he popped in. Ditto for guest speaker former Sen. Bob Dole.
