Oregon State U. works to make degrees available to students across the world - Brent Dreher, Barometer

Major changes are coming to the distance education program at OSU -- beginning with a new name. The newly christened "OSU Extended Campus" program is refitting itself in order to integrate itself into the OSU community. William McCaughan, dean of the OSU Extended Campus said in a time where many schools have adopted the option of "e-learning" over the old distance learning, OSU has strived to be one step ahead.... Representing a portion of the student body most of us never see, the Extended Campus program already has over 7,000 students enrolled for this year. This serves as a 30 percent increase over last year -- part of the 25 to 35 percent increases they have seen in the last three years.
