New Navy goal: 'a culture of learning' - R.W. Rogers, Daily Press
Lost in the shuffle of almost-daily deployments, the Navy has established the Naval Personnel Development Command that Adm. Vern Clark, chief of naval operations, said would revolutionize the way that the Navy trained its sailors... That will be done by relying more upon computer-based learning, online learning, on-the-job-training and mentoring - and less on sending sailors to a classroom for weeks at a time.
