First homeland defense graduate program offered - Santa Cruz Sentinel staff report
U.S. Rep. Sam Farr will help usher in the nation’s first homeland defense master degree program at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey on Monday. The distance learning program will educate firefighters, police officers, city officials and other personnel who would be the first to respond in the event of a terrorist attack. Each quarter will begin with a week-long, intensive program at the naval school, with the rest of the quarter spent in students’ communities. Students will complete the course through the Web.
