Chico State's online enrollment increasing - Roger Aylworth
They never come to class, never see the teacher face-to-face, and are expressly prohibited from living in Chico, but they are a growing percentage of the students enrolled at Chico State University. Monday as thousands of students trudged into class for the first day of the spring semester, added hundreds of students got their first-day course work by sitting down at their computers. Jeffrey Layne, who is in charge of online education for Chico State's Office of Regional and Continuing Education, said in the three semesters since the university has gone extensively into Internet courses, the number of students has grown steadily.
