Army's Distance-Education Program Adds 12 More Institutions - Dan Carnevale, the Chronicle
The Army's distance-education program, called eArmyU, has significantly increased the number of colleges and universities it works with. Officials of the program said the expansion will help meet a rising demand for online courses from soldiers serving around the world. In addition to the 20 colleges already participating, the distance-education program has selected 12 more institutions to join the program. The new institutions -- including Indiana University at Bloomington, Jefferson Community College, in Watertown, N.Y., and the University of Maryland's University College -- plan to bring in an additional 68 degree programs over the next six to nine months.
