Online Learning site to help train doctors for terrorism, other emergencies, Newsday

A Web-based distance-learning company will receive $1.8 million in federal grants to help train New York doctors on dealing with terrorism and other potential public health emergencies, Gov. George Pataki announced Wednesday. The money awarded to New York City-based World Medical Leaders, a multimedia company developed by and for doctors, will set up a New York State Physicians Intranet site. It is meant to help doctors statewide respond to emergencies, including biological or chemical terrorism, and to provide them with urgent communications, according to Pataki's office.
