Glen Oaks Community College promotes the benefits of distance learning program - KATHY JESSUP, South Bend Tribune
The kids are in bed, the dinner table is cleared and now at 9:30 Friday night, it's time to go to school. Instead of grabbing a coat, books and the car keys, increasing numbers of students are heading to a home computer, logging on, and learning over the Internet. Twenty-six-year-old Sarah Speicher, of Sturgis, says the flexibility of using 30 minutes here and an hour there online, watching videos and consulting textbooks, is a flexible learning system ideal for her, as a single, working mother.
