Armed forces academia by Robyn Tellefsen
If you're one of the many Americans seeking to defend the freedom of our nation through the armed forces, take heart - - it's not necessary to sacrifice education to do so. Institutions like Excelsior College, the Culinary Institute of America, and eArmyU are three of many institutions providing distance learning opportunities to meet the growing need for higher ed' in the ranks. Excelsior College, Albany, NY, is one of 18 Navy College Program Distance Learning Partnership Schools, offering associate and bachelor's degrees via virtual coursework. Students take courses at their own pace, while military tuition assistance covers the majority of their costs.
