http://www.elearningmag.com/elearning/article/articleDetail.jsp?id=33452 Research University Prescribes iMarkup for Med School Case Western Reserve University, one of the leading independent research universities in the United States, has selected iMarkup technology to help develop electronic curriculum for its School of Medicine. CWRU purchased and installed the software on new laptops for first-year med students. iMarkup allows them to go online where they can listen to lectures and make appropriate annotations electronically rather than maintaining hardcopy notes. Historically, CWRU faculty prepared a syllabus that was given to students at the beginning of each teaching section. With 3,000 to 5,000 faculty teaching med students at various times throughout the year, that syllabus was a substantial document. By 1993, it included approximately 6,000 pages of typewritten notes, hardcopy material, lecture notes, graphics, drawings, etc., which the faculty provided during class sessions. After the School of Medicine began providing laptops to its students, the Syllabus Office started converting the typed pages to Word processing documents and making the curriculum available to students....
