The next generation could run a boring checker over their work as well. Edinburgh University experts have designed a computer program that scans text to assess how imaginative the author has been, and suggests how to spice up the narrative. It has been designed to teach primary schoolchildren creative writing skills. However, Dr Judy Robertson, of the university's informatics division, admitted it could be adapted for older authors to make their literary forays more interesting as well....
