INTRODUCTION: The world is changing rapidly in all areas in the environment, economy, technology and education. While it is important to spend time thinking about these changes, perhaps it is more important to consider the implications of the changes to education. The education system should be the key platform that enables young people to develop the necessary skills required to prepare for the changing world. The institutions can now deliver a variety of educational applications due to the developments in information and communication technology. The capacity for information and communications technology has been growing exponentially over the last 10 to 15 years. Computers have become more powerful; satellite, fibre optic and wireless technology has increased transmission capacity; and software developments such as multimedia authoring systems have made it easier to create digital materials such as electronic games, computer simulations and educational materials....
