Effective Use of Online and Traditional Resources in Teaching and Learning
Janice Carter, Christina Calavano, Steven Dunlap, Elizabeth Harac, and Andrea Niosi; Golden Gate University

Abstract: To address the declining quality of student research projects, we start where the students are: on the Web. Our primary tactic is to create research strategy guides that students can bookmark and access via the Web. The guides, tailored to the students’ research projects, lead them to books, peer reviewed journals, and other sources. In the process of helping the students meet their immediate research needs, the guides also teach students a research process that will enable them to search wisely, so they can be effective and competitive in their careers, both now and in the ever-changing future....
