However, it “doesn’t mean we have to be an e-university,” he said. Currently Chen is the associate vice president for academic affairs and chief technology officer at Utica College of Syracuse University in New York. E-learning can be a powerful supplement for students, he said. Chen pointed out how the Web is changing the way universities work and cited the University of Phoenix’s plan to eliminate textbooks in favor of an Internet-based curriculum....
