http://www.microsoft.com/education/?ID=Win2kIndiana Indiana University Grows its Own eLearning Solution Based on Windows 2000 and Microsoft Products Indiana University was hosting a decentralized patchwork of eLearning solutions. But that wasn't serving distance learners and full-time students who needed a single, comprehensive and uniform way to access online content. Nor was it serving faculty who likewise needed a more powerful, easier, and fully maintained online solution for their course creation and management. The university created its own solution - Oncourse - based completely on the Microsoft platform, including Windows® 2000, SQL Server™ 2000, Internet Information Server 5.0, Microsoft Network Load Balancing, Active Server Pages, and the Microsoft toolset. Three years later, the solution is used by nearly half the university's students and faculty to create and access more than 3,000 courses. Users love the solution. IT administration is faster, easier and less expensive; and university administrators gain entirely new functionality, such as decision-support data updated daily....
