http://www.webct.com/OTL/ViewContent?contentID=2339239 Online Testing Murray Goldberg I never fully appreciated the possibility of both really liking and really disliking something at the same time until WebCT became popular. No - it isn't WebCT that I both like and dislike (WebCT is firmly planted in my "like" category, of course). What I am referring to is all the travel I do. I travel weekly mostly to universities and conferences to give talks on educational technologies and their effectiveness. Although I really dislike being away from my wife, two little girls and, of course, our dogs, Whoopie (Goldberg) and Slim, I actually enjoy the act of traveling, and positively love the huge volumes of interaction I enjoy with faculty members. I've probably visited and interacted with people at about 80 universities and colleges. In all this travel, one of the many things I am asked consistently is about my approach to web-based testing. This is a topic which requires careful consideration. I feel compelled at this point to give my usual disclaimer. I am not an expert in web-based testing, and have seen many, many people take much more sophisticated approaches to on-line testing that I do in my teaching....
