The newly formed World Alliance of Distance Education is a partnership between the UK's Open University, the Open University of Hong Kong, Canada's Athabasca University and Deakin University, which is one of Australia's biggest providers of distance education. The Open University is the largest university in the UK, with more than 220,000 students, of whom 150,000 take their courses online. The central aim of WADE is to widen study options by pooling a selection of course units from the four institutions....
