Says It Will Distribute Courses, Not Create Them WACHIRA KIGOTHO, Nairobi, Kenya The African Virtual University has dropped plans to offer its own degree programs in a variety of disciplines and will instead concentrate on delivering computer-science and business programs from established institutions. The university's trustees, in a meeting here last week, decided to phase out its existing short computer courses, as well as its proposed degree programs in computer engineering, mathematics, and electrical engineering. The chairman of the board of trustees, Phinias Makhurane, said the university had neither enough money nor enough qualified instructors to provide the programs....
