With more than 16,000 students enrolling each year for college courses, the school is among the largest in the world. Students from all 50 U.S. states and 60 to 70 other nations enroll in classes offered through the school each year.... While some of the distance learning classes the school offers are Web-based Internet classes, most are more akin to the traditional through-the-mail correspondence courses — with video, audio or computer software enhancements — that the school has offered since 1909....
