Johnson In fall 2000, the University of Florida implemented two large undergraduate "gateway" classes in pre-calculus and general chemistry using the WebCT course management system. Pre-calculus and chemistry are required for most majors in the sciences. As a result, pre-calculus enrollment was 2,689 students, while chemistry enrolled 1,644 students. Both of these courses are face-to-face classes with multiple sections....
