Phlippine Women's university extends education via the Net

THE PHILIPPINE Women's University (PWU) will soon offer some of its post-graduate courses online as part of its effort to modernize its distance education program, school officials said on Wednesday. The 82-year-old university is working with computer firm Unisys Philippines on building of a Web-based system on which most of its courseware will be available, said Cecilia Medel, acting vice president for information technology and project director of the PWU-Unisys e-learning partnership. Medel said that the school will initially offer a Masters of Arts in Education, and will gradually progress to other post-graduate courses as more courseware becomes available....
