Students at the university, interviewed by the newspaper The Zimbabwe Standard, say the increase will result in a large number of dropouts. Annual tuition for the bachelor of arts degree, for example, was about $219 last year. An official at the Zimbabwe Open University confirmed that the cost for the same degree program will be $961 this year, which is an increase of about 338 percent....
