http://www.tamu.edu/aggiedaily/10.html Alternative Teacher Certification Partnership Get $900,000 Grant COLLEGE STATION - Several academic units of Texas A&M University will share in a $900,000 grant from the United States Department of Education in an alternative teacher certification partnership with the Region IV Education Service Center (ESC) in Houston. The "Transition to Teach" grant will help ease teacher shortages by making it possible to prepare and place at least 90 teachers through an accelerated certification plan for "high-need" subject areas, such as math, science, bilingual education, special education and foreign languages....
